Post The land(s) of your ancestors!
Ultimately we're all from Africa, but where else had your ancestors lived? Mine have come from Ireland, England, France, Austria, and the Netherlands mostly. My family had some DNA testing done that showed before that we were in Egypt, China, and the Middle East in ancient times. I identify most with the Irish and German cultures though, and those are the two countries I'd most like to visit.

Interesting topic. I am African-American and maybe someday I'll do the DNA test and be able to say more than that. One of my colleagues had the opportunity to do business in Africa last year, she brought home lots of video and the place she visited looks amazing. I would really like to visit someday.

My ancestry can be traced back to the Clans of Scotland. That's going back to just before the act in the late 1600's that outlawed all Clans. The elder members of our family have the historical documents and birth/death extracts from then to now.

The DNA test my family participated in was the The Genographic Project, but I read that there were more specific tests for African-American ancestry. This one has a database of over 300 tribes and ethnic groups in West and Central Africa: http://www.africanancestry.com/
That would be a life-altering trip, I'm sure. Would love to hear about it when you go through with it!
